ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms has closed a debate on the issue of judges’ appointment in top judiciary.

Sources privy to the meeting told Wednesday that the committee has reached a consensus against the appointment of ad-hoc judges in future.

However, the committee headed by Senator Raza Rabbani has decided to maintain the present age limit mentioned for the judges of superior judiciary.

Following the completion of argument on the procedure of judges’ appointment, the committee has now decided to take up the constitutional clauses about provincial autonomy.
